Karubecue was founded in the Summer of 2004. Inspired by countless pit inspections and Pit Boss interviews during many Barbecue Tours, we set about making a pit to:
- Preserve what makes traditional barbecue great – the distinctive flavors, aromas and colors that come only from a real hardwood fire.
- Re-engineer the combustion process to make pit temperature and flavor profile easy to control.
- Do this in a simple, reliable, and reasonably affordable way.
We figured the project should take 2 to 3 months, 4 tops. We were a bit off on that estimate …
